ASEAN, Japan Commemorates 50 Years of Friendship and Cooperation at ASEAN-Japan Fair 2023
Jakarta, 29 September- 1 October 2023 – The Mission of Japan to ASEAN (MoJ) and the JAIF Management Team (JMT) jointly organised the ASEAN-Japan Fair 2023 at the Main Atrium of Plaza Senayan in Jakarta. The opening ceremony featured a Taiko performance and opening remarks by H.E. KIYA Masahiko, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, H.E. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, and H.E. Robert Matheus Michael Tene, Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) for ASEAN Political-Security Community. The remarks emphasised the importance of the 50 years of ASEAN-Japan relationship and the contributions of Japan’s partners and stakeholders to the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).
The event was also attended by H.E. KANASUGI Kenji, Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia and showcased the initiatives of both public and private organisations, as well as fun games and other activities.
