JMT Receives Courtesy Visit by Bakamla and UNODC

JAKARTA, 4 November 2024 – JMT had the pleasure of meeting representatives from the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the JMT office. The visit was joined by representatives from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN and the Embassy of Japan to Indonesia.

The discussion focused on strengthening ASEAN-Japan cooperation on maritime security and enhancing ASEAN Member States’ capacity to counter maritime crimes. JMT shared insights on the appraisal and approval process for ASEAN cooperation projects with Bakamla and UNODC, which created a common understanding of the follow-up actions each party needs to take.
