Second Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Implementation Plan Training in ASEAN (GIPTA 2.0) Workshop

JAKARTA, 11 December 2024 – A two-day regional workshop for the ASEAN Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Implementation Plan Training in ASEAN (GIPTA) 2.0 was commenced in Jakarta on 11 December 2024.

Key participants included representatives from the aviation authorities of, the ASEAN Secretariat, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN (MOJ), the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism (MLIT) of Japan and Japan Radio Air Navigation Systems Association (JRANSA).

GNSS has revolutionised air navigation safety. Through this workshop, the project aims to leverage Japan’s advanced GNSS implementation and share best practices to enhance safe and economical air navigation across the ASEAN region.

Upcoming activities include two more regional workshops in Bangkok and Hanoi, a field study in Tokyo and training in Manila.
