JAIF Socialization Session at the 10th AFCF Meeting

BANGKOK, 7-8 May 2018 – The Department of Fisheries, Thailand hosted the 10th Meeting of ASEAN Fisheries Consultative Forum (AFCF) on 7 – 8 May 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was held back to back with the 26th Meeting of ASEAN Sectoral Working Group on Fisheries (ASWGFi).

While the ASWGFi is a closed meeting to discuss policy matters, the AFCF, as a technical consultation group, is open to partners including international and regional organizations. The latter was attended by 44 participants from ASEAN Member States and partners from international organizations.

Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) Management Team (JMT) was invited to the 10th Meeting of AFCF to share information on the procedures and requirements for JAIF-supported projects for information and notation of the Meeting. The Chair expressed its appreciation for Japan’s long-term cooperation in the fisheries sector. Commendable feedback to the presentation was also received from the ASWGFi members.
