The Government of Japan continues their commitment to supporting people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region through JENESYS2022 Phase II. With the contribution of approximately USD 2,000,000, the programme aims to engage around 500 participants from Japan, ASEAN Member States, and Timor Leste.

Through this initiative, it is hoped that mutual trust and understanding between people of Japan and the Asia-Pacific region will be enhanced. Participants of this programme are expected to actively share what they learn from it and the charms of Japan with the people in the ASEAN region through social networks and other media platforms during and after their engagement in the programme. The programme also contributes to fostering Japan-ASEAN cooperation through people-to-people connectivity which is one of the thematic areas outlined in the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).
