18th Meeting of the ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee Working Group (AJJCC-WG)
JAKARTA, 5 April 2024 – 18th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee Working Group (AJJCC-WG) meeting was convened at ASEAN Headquarters on 5 April 2024. Co-chaired by the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN and the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, the meeting was attended by representatives from all ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Timor-Leste, the ASEAN Secretariat, the JAIF Management Team (JMT), and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
This meeting was marked as the first ASEAN-Japan meeting following the adoption of the Joint Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Trusted Partners and its Implementation Plan at the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation in December 2023.
The discussions at the meeting encompassed a diverse array of topics, aiming at strengthening ASEAN-Japan cooperation, and reflected Japan’s ongoing commitment to fostering regional integration and resilience. The Meeting also featured significant updates on the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), delivered by JMT Director Naoki Minamiguchi.
