JMT Attends Inception Workshop of “Promotion of Crop Insurance in ASEAN through the Public and Private Partnership” Project

JAKARTA, 12 December 2023 – JAIF Management Team (JMT) attended an inception workshop of the new project, Promotion of Crop Insurance in ASEAN through the Public and Private Partnership. The workshop was organised by the Department of Agriculture of Thailand, which is the Proponent of the project. It was attended by the representatives of the Mekong Institute, the ASEAN Secretariat, JMT, and Sanyu Consultants Inc. that implements the project. The purpose of the meeting was to confirm among the stakeholders the details of the project, such as its objectives, approaches, implementation plan and structure, and outcomes.

While JMT briefed the participants on essential rules and procedures for project implementation, Sanyu Consultants Inc. delivered a presentation on the detailed implementation plan as well as the progress made since the project was approved in October 2023.

The project aims to achieve enhanced utilisation of crop insurance products, information, and knowledge to better manage crop production risks through strengthened public-private partnerships in the region. It is expected to be implemented until April 2025.
