JMT Director Welcomed the Students from the Jakarta Japanese School
JAKARTA, 6 June 2023 – 42 junior high school students and teachers from the Jakarta Japanese School (JJS) visited the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), accompanied by officials from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN and the ASEC Community Relations Division.
Welcoming the study visit by the students to ASEC, JAIF Management Team (JMT) Director Naoki Minamiguchi provided them with a briefing on the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN-Japan cooperation through JAIF.
Afterwards, the students met Mr Srun Rida, a contemporary visual artist from Cambodia, as he creates an art piece on unity amidst diversity in ASEAN. They also visited the ASEC’s Resource Center, ASEAN Gallery, Nusantara Hall, and the ASEAN Gift Shop.
In the afternoon, the students had the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Panel Exhibition showcasing Japan’s contribution to ASEAN through JAIF.
Through their visit to the ASEAN Secretariat, they are expected to broaden their perspectives of ASEAN and deepen their understanding of ASEAN-Japan cooperation.
Director Minamiguchi of JMT provided a briefing to JJS students on the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN-Japan cooperation through JAIF.
