JMT Participates in the 4th ICT Project Steering Committee Meeting
JAKARTA, 9 October 2020 – The 4th Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting for the Establishment of an Integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) System to Strengthen the Operation of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (the AHA Centre) – Phase IV project was held on 9 October 2020. The meeting was co-chaired by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Singapore and attended by representatives from Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication of Japan, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, ASEAN Secretariat, the AHA Centre and JAIF Management Team (JMT).
The meeting was updated the Project Implementation Plan of the said project. The Implementing Agency, the AHA Centre, reported the achievement of project outputs and updated budget utilization. The meeting recognized challenges of providing training for ASEAN Member States on how to utilize the AHA Centre’s ICT System and the Web Emergency Operations Centre (WebEOC) Refreshment course. The platform also discussed the proposed scenarios and possible solutions. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic and travel restriction, the project required a no-cost extension and budget realignment. JMT provided the necessary procedures of said requests. The meeting was organised remotely through video conference.
