JMT participates in the DELSA Phase II PSC meeting

BANGKOK, 25 April 2018 – The first Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the project “Establishment of a Disaster Emergency Logistics Systems for ASEAN (DELSA) – Phase II: Satellite Warehouse” was held on 25 April 2018 in Royal Princess Larn Luang Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was co-chaired by Malaysia and Singapore as Co-Chairs of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) Working Group on Preparedness and Response. Thailand, as the host country of the satellite warehouse, also attended the meeting along with the PSC members namely representatives from the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), ASEAN Secretariat, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, and Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund Management Team (JMT).

The PSC members expressed their appreciation to the Government of Japan for continuing its support to ASEAN through the AHA Centre, which is the implementing agency of the DELSA Phase II project. The Co-Chairs highlighted that the continuation of DELSA from Phase I to Phase II indicated the success of the first phase in having delivered tangible results on the ground, which benefited the ASEAN communities affected by disaster in the past five years.
