JMT Participates in the First Regional (Inception) Workshop of the ASEAN SDGs Frontrunner Cities Programme Phase 2

MALAYSIA, 11 January 2023 – The First Regional (Inception) Workshop of the ASEAN SDGs Frontrunner Cities (SDG-FCs) Programme Phase 2 was held in Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia on 10-11 January 2023. The hybrid workshop was attended by approximately 130 participants comprising representatives from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) as the project’s implementing agency, ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, and the JAIF Management Team (JMT). Local governments nominated as participating cities of SDG-FCs and resource persons from Malaysian supporting organisations also attended.

Participating online on the second day from Jakarta, JMT Programme Coordinator Zin Aung Swe provided a briefing on the key details of JAIF project management, including JAIF rules and procedures as well as expectations concerning project implementation, impact evaluation, financial reporting, and other important matters.
