JMT Participation in Regional Workshop for Biomass Energy

HA NOI, 30 March 2021 – Under the framework of the ASEAN Technical Working Group on Agricultural Research and Development (ATWGARD) and the Project on Promotion of Biomass Energy for Agricultural Communities and Rural Development in ASEAN Region funded by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), Viet Nam conducted a Regional Virtual Workshop on biomass energy promotion for inclusive and sustainable agriculture development in ASEAN region on 30 March 2021. The workshop aims to (i) share global development orientations and advanced technologies of biomass energy; (ii) present the results of pilot projects focusing on the challenges and lessons learnt; and (iii) regional strategies and policy recommendations.

The workshop was attended by focal points from ATWGARD, Project Management Unit, ASEAN Secretariat and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) Japan. Programme Coordinator of JAIF Management Team (JMT) also attended and provided short remarks at the opening ceremony of the workshop.
