JMT Participation in Special PSC Meeting for ACE Programme

JAKARTA, 26 March 2021 – The Special Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting for the AHA Centre Executive (ACE) Programme 2018-2020 was held on 26 March 2021, convened online. The meeting was presided by Indonesia, Singapore and Viet Nam as Co-Chairs of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) Working Group on Global Leadership (WG on GL). The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) and JAIF Management Team (JMT). The AHA Centre as the implementing agency for the ACE Programme 2018-2020 also provided secretariat support to the meeting.

The meeting discussed the postponement of the conduct of the English Course for Disaster Management (ECDM), which is a pre-requisite course that enables participants to have a common understanding of basic disaster management concepts. The proponent presented options in response to the proposed request for postponement of ECDM and the meeting discussed the best options. JMT provided advice and support regarding the project procedures.
