JMT Participation in the 3rd ASEAN-ERAT Project Steering Committee Meeting

BANGKOK, 29 July 2022 – The third Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the project Strengthening ASEAN’s Collective Response Capacity through the Enhancement of the Capacity Building of the Regional ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) (2020-2022) or ASEAN-ERAT Phase II was held in Bangkok, Thailand in July 2022.

The meeting was co-chaired by Singapore and Thailand, and attended by representatives from ASEAN Member States, Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (DMHA) Division of the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (the AHA Centre), and the JAIF Management Team (JMT).

JMT Programme Coordinator Zin Aung Swe delivered remarks on behalf of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN and JMT.

The meeting updated the participants on the progress of the ASEAN-ERAT Phase II project, including the resource utilisation situation. In addition, the members of the ASEAN-ERAT Advisory Board provided their observations to the simulation exercise of the 13th ASEAN-ERAT Induction Course. JMT also provided inputs to the stakeholders as to improving the course by exercising different disaster scenarios.
