JMT Participation in the Book Launching of the ASEAN-IPR Research – Aceh Case: Peace Building and Post Tsunami Recovery

JAKARTA, 27 June 2022 – The ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconstruction (ASEAN-IPR) launched the book ASEAN-IPR Research – Aceh Case: Peace Building and Post Tsunami Recovery on 27 June 2022. The research revealed how the humanitarian assistance as a result of the tsunami in Aceh in 2004 has contributed to the peace building in Aceh.

The Director General of ASEAN Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, provided a keynote speech, and other high-level officials delivered remarks. They were the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, Deputy Secretary-General for Political-Security Community of the ASEAN Secretariat, Representative of Indonesia to the ASEAN-IPR Governing Council, and the Executive Director of ASEAN-IPR.

The hybrid launch event was concluded by a symbolic handover of the publication to the invited guests. Amongst others, JMT Director Naoki Minamiguchi received the research output. JMT Programme Coordinator Zin Aung Swe also actively participated in the event, who facilitated the process of the ASEAN-IPR Research project funded by JAIF.
