JMT Provides a Briefing to the Implementing Agency of the Regional Project for the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity
JAKARTA, 11 October 2024 – JMT provided a project inception briefing to the stakeholders of the newly approved JAIF project, Strengthening Digital Platforms that Provide Information on Agricultural Practices, Markets, and Pricing to Smallholder Farmers.
Proposed and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia, the new project aims to raise awareness on agriculture best practices, markets, and pricing to smallholder farmers in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Viet Nam as a means to address the lack of trainers and limited access to market information.
The briefing was attended by 12 stakeholders, including representatives from the MAFF Cambodia, Mekong Institute experts, and representatives from ASEAN Secretariat’s IAI-Narrowing Development Gap Division.
Aiming to familiarize the stakeholders with essential elements for JAIF project implementation, JMT Programme Coordinator, Miyuki Ishikawa, explained essential JAIF rules and procedures, monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and visibility.
