JMT Visits UN WFP’s Humanitarian Response Depot
SUBANG, 7 September 2023 – The United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Subang, Malaysia stores, maintains, and assists in delivering emergency and relief items to countries under disaster emergencies and humanitarian situations.
Some of these items in the warehouse, such as operational and beneficiary support materials, are procured by the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA) projects funded by JAIF and implemented by the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre). Assisted by the WFP and AHA Centre staff, the JAIF Management Team (JMT) walked through the huge warehouse filled with relief items, which are ready for dispatch. JMT was briefed on the management of these items as well as the logistical support provided by WFP and the AHA Centre. JAIF has been supporting DELSA since 2012, and the Phase IV of DELSA began in June 2023.
JMT visited the warehouse of the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA) located in Subang, Malaysia and managed by WFP.
