MoJ, JMT Visit the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA) Satellite Warehouse in Thailand
CHAINAT, 25 October 2023 – Operated as part of the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA), the Satellite Warehouse in Chainat, Thailand serves to increase the speed and scale of ASEAN’s response in the region, mainly for Mekong Countries.
On 25 October 2023, accompanied by the officials from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) of Thailand and the AHA Centre, the representatives from the Mission of Japan to ASEAN (MoJ) and the JAIF Management Team (JMT) walked through the warehouse and observed the management system of relief items consisting of: Operation Support Materials to support on-the-ground operations of National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs), and Beneficiaries Support Materials to be distributed to disaster-affected communities.
The Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA) Phase IV Project commenced in June 2023 with the support of the Government of Japan through JAIF.
JMT Programme Coordinator and a MoJ representative visited the satellite warehouse of DELSA in Chainat, Thailand.
