Wrap-Up Symposium of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation
JAKARTA, 21 February 2024 – The Wrap-Up Symposium of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, titled Co-Creating the Future with Trust, took place in Jakarta, Indonesia on 21 February 2024. Co-organised by the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN and the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), the event was opened with the remarks of the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Socio-Cultural Community, Ekkaphab Phanthavong, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, Urawadee Sriphiromya, and other distinguished speakers. Naoki Minamiguchi, JMT Director also attended the symposium.
This event marked the conclusion of the commemorative events for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. During the closing remarks, Ambassador KIYA Masahiko of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, encouraged everyone to take concrete actions and make contributions as a way to move forward with the collaboration after celebrating the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. He also reiterated the Japan’s renewed commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world through co-creation with ASEAN based on trust.
