Courtesy Visit of DG and DDG of the ASEAN Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR

JAKARTA, 5 December 2023 – The JAIF Management Team (JMT) had the pleasure of meeting the delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, led by Mr. Chatoulong Bouasisavath, Director-General of the ASEAN Department on 5 December 2023. At the meeting, Mr. Chatoulong expressed his appreciation for Japan’s long-term assistance to the Lao PDR, especially for human resource development through the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI).

The Lao PDR will assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024. JAIF has recently supported four Lao officials to gain hands-on experience in regional cooperation through the Attachment Programme of the ASEAN Secretariat.
