Graduation Ceremony AHA Centre Executive Leadership in Emergency and Disaster Management Programme (ACE LEDMP), Executive Level

JAKARTA, 25 October 2024 – The Graduation Ceremony for AHA Centre Executive Leadership in Emergency and Disaster Management (ACE LEDMP) for the Executive Level – Second Batch commenced in the Hermitage Hotel, Jakarta. During the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, Nararya S. Soeprapto delivered a pre-recorded opening remark, reiterated how ACE-LEDMP enhanced collaboration between the ASEAN Member States (AMS) on disaster management and encouraged the participants to share the knowledge to their home countries. The event continued with remarks from Director Operations of the AHA Centre Dr. Sithu Pe Thein and a speech from the Minister/Deputy Head of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, CHUJO Kazuo. Minister Chujo reiterated that ASEAN-Japan relations are a relation of “Trusted Partners”, which was made possible by a long history of cooperation and friendship with mutual respect and understanding over the years.

The participants expressed their gratification in enhancing their leadership and disaster management skills while at the same time building networks with professionals from other AMS.

A total of 20 executives from the 10 AMS and Timor Leste engaged in a four-month programme, consisting of practical onsite sessions and study visits to Japan.

The AHA Centre Executive Leadership in Emergency and Disaster Management (ACE LEDMP) is primarily supported by the Government of Japan through JAIF.
