JMT Participation on the Opening Ceremony of the Commemorative Exhibition of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation

JAKARTA, 6 June 2023 – The Mission of Japan to ASEAN held an opening ceremony of the commemorative exhibition of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation at the ASEAN Secretariat. The two-week exhibition aimed to promote a better understanding of ASEAN-Japan relations and cooperation, highlighting the commemorative year.

The ceremony was attended by Permanent Representatives of ASEAN Member States, ASEC officials, students from the Jakarta Japanese School (JJS), and the JAIF Management Team. The Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, the Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Political-Security Community, and a student representative from the JJS delivered short remarks to congratulate the event.

On the same day, the 17th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee (AJJCC) was held in the ASEAN Secretariat where a meaningful exchange of opinions took place regarding the preparation for the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit at the end of this year.
