Seminar on the Outcome of the ASEAN-IPR Research Project

JAKARTA, 23 September 2019 – The ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR) convened a seminar on the outcome of the research project titled “Lessons Learned from a Process of Conflict Resolution between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) as Mediated by Indonesia, 1993-1996.” The research project was initiated by the ASEAN-IPR – Indonesia and carried out jointly by a team of researchers from Indonesia and the Philippines with the support of the Government of Japan through the Japan ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).

The opening ceremony of the seminar commenced with welcome remarks by H.E. Rezlan Ishar Jenie, Executive Director of the ASEAN-IPR. It was also attended by approximately 100 participants and dignitaries namely H.E. Retno L.P. Marsudi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, H. E. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of ASEAN for Political-Security Community, and H.E. Noel Servigon, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN who delivered remarks. The JAIF Management Team (JMT) Director also read out the message on behalf of Mme. Hikariko Ono, Charge d’Affairs ad interim, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN.
