ASEAN-Japan Summit Records Three Documents, Commits USD100 Million in Funding for JAIF 3.0
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Retno Marsudi said that at the ASEAN-Japan Summit three cooperation documents were recorded. She stated that most of the leaders expressed the importance of maintaining a conducive situation in the region, especially on the Korean Peninsula and the South China Sea. Apart from that, the leaders also encouraged cooperation in developing green infrastructure, connectivity, energy transition and the digital economy.
Furthermore, Japan also conveyed a funding commitment of USD100 million or IDR1.5 trillion to support the implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP) through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) 3.0. Japan also launched the Comprehensive Connectivity Initiative while speaking at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF).
