Chairman’s Statement of the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance Mobilisation Resources to the Affected Communities of Tropical Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar
Another batch of relief items from the people of ASEAN to the people of Myanmar affected by Tropical Cyclone MOCHA arrived in Yangon on 26 June 2023. The items include emergency shelter tool kits and a manual water filtration system worth USD 37,800 in value. They were transported from Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA) warehouse in Subang, Malaysia, by Indonesia’s military aircraft.
To date, through the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre), ASEAN has mobilised ten batches of humanitarian support for Myanmar with a total value of around USD 1.6 million.
The Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) has been supporting DELSA since its establishment in 2012.
