Japan – Brunei Traditional Arts Exchange

Japan – Brunei Traditional Arts Exchange
30 March 2022 -

On 22 – 28 February 2022, the JENESYS online programme was organised by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) with the theme “Japan-Brunei Traditional Arts Exchange”, which was attended by young Bruneian artists. During the programme, these artists were briefed on Japanese culture, society, and history as a first introduction. They were also exposed to Japanese traditional cultures, Noh (traditional dance-drama) and Kyogen (traditional comedy drama), through workshops by skilled Noh actors and Japanese Kyogen performers. JICE as the organiser hoped this programme inspires young Bruneian artists to push further in the performing arts and look forward to their future activities.

This program is part of the Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs JENESYS2021 “Inbound, Outbound and Follow Up Project” supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
