Japan will Provide AstraZenecca Vaccines Manufactured in Japan to Malaysia
Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu announced that the Government of Japan would like to provide AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured in Japan to Malaysia as well as Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand from July, if various circumstances allow, and will advance its coordination. Based on Foreign Minister’s announcement, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia will continue to work closely with the Government of Malaysia to provide the vaccine to the Malaysians. This will be another symbol of friendship between Japan and Malaysia.
Japan’s support has been consistent in combating the COVID-19 Pandemic both to ASEAN as a region as well as ASEAN Member States (AMS). At regional level, the Government of Japan support the establishment of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases as an organization to protect people in the ASEAN region from the threat of infectious diseases, and financial support of USD 50 million through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
