Jokowi-Yoshihide Suga Discussed Covid-19 Pandemic Management and South China Sea

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a state visit from the Japanese Prime Minister, Yoshihide Suga, at the Bogor Palace on Tuesday (20/10/2020). President Jokowi appreciated Japan’s commitment to form the Covid-19 Response Fund. Moreover President Jokowi invited Japan to strengthen health governance in the region to face the pandemic including the establishment of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases.

The Feasibility Study on the Establishment of “ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases” is currently on-going and supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
