Virtual National Stakeholder Consultation Workshop of Mercury-Containing Medical Devices Management Project in Indonesia
12 January 2021, the National Stakeholder Consultation Workshop of Mercury-Containing Medical Devices Management Project was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Republic of Indonesia (MoEF), Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia (MoH), the Asian Institute of Technology Regional Resource Center for Asia and the Pacific (AIT.RRCAP) and the Basel and Stockholm Conventions Regional Centre for Southeast Asia (BSCRC-SEA). The workshop was supported by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat and funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). The workshop was attended by 54 (fifty-four) participants as representatives of MoEF, MoH, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, Ministry of the Environment of Japan, AIT.RRCAP, Ministry of Transportation (MoTransp), Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), local health agency, hospital, public health centre, integrated TSD facility in Indonesia, Waste Management Area under the UNEP Global Mercury Partnership, mercury recovery facility in Japan and BSCRC-SEA. Representatives from the Environmental Management Bureau, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines, also participated in this workshop as observers. The workshop reviewed, discussed and agreed in principle the draft situational assessment report along with inventory, and the draft technical guideline incorporating the feedback from relevant stakeholders participated in the workshop.
