An International Workshop was Held for PaSTI Project Partners in ASEAN
From 7-8 November, 2019, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan held an international workshop in Manila, Philippines, jointly with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Philippines. This workshop was aimed to share the progress of the PaSTI projects currently underway in ASEAN, exchange opinions with the private sector and experts on transparency and MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification), and establish networks among participants. Approximately 45 representatives from ASEAN Member States, international organizations including UNFCCC, private companies, and research institutions participated.
At the workshop, representatives of the PaSTI-JAIF project for the ASEAN region and of bilateral activities in Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines presented their current status and plans for the future. Experts provided information on the status of MRV development in ASEAN Member States, the global trends in climate change action in the private sector while private companies in Japan and Indonesia shared their internal activities and experiences.
