ASEAN and Japan Announce Official Logo and Catchphrase for the 50th Year of Friendship and Cooperation
The official logo and catchphrase for “The 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation” were announced at the ASEAN-Japan Ministerial Meeting on 4 August 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Logo Design and Catchphrase Contest for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation attracted 393 entries for the logo design and 620 entries for the catchphrase from ASEAN Member States and Japan.
The ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Committee, comprising the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, and the ASEAN Secretariat, has selected the following winners whose work are now the official logo and catchphrase for “the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation”:
Logo Design – TANABE Masaya from Japan
Catchphrase – Marlon Villones GUERRERO from the Philippines
In 2023, there will be numerous commemorative events and exchange programmes to be held in commemoration with “the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation”. The official logo and catchphrase may be used in both Japan and ASEAN Member States for these activities.
