ASEAN Holds Regional Workshop to Review Strategic Framework on Promoting an ASEAN Adaptive Community
On 3 August, Preekamol Thanomsakchai, Executive Director of Foreign Office, the Government Public Relations Department of Thailand, along with representatives from ASEAN Division, attended the “ASEAN Regional Workshop on Fostering Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas Among the Peoples of ASEAN” via video conference, which was organised by Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei Darussalam, the Chair of ASEAN for 2021.
The Regional Workshop reviewed and discussed the Zero Draft of Strategic Policy Framework on Promoting an ASEAN Adaptive Community of Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas among the Peoples of ASEAN, which will serve as an overarching document to lend greater coherence and narrative in guiding ASEAN’s cross-sectoral efforts to foster greater understanding, tolerance and a sense of regional agendas.
The Zero Draft will be revised according to recommendations from the Regional Workshop, in preparation for its adoption by the ASEAN Leaders at the upcoming 38th ASEAN Summit in October 2021.
The strategic policy framework is an outcome of Fostering Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas among the Peoples of ASEAN project supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
