BAKAMLA, JAIF, and UNODC Discuss Cooperation Program to Enhance Maritime Security in ASEAN

Head of the Maritime Security Agency (BAKAMLA) of Indonesia attended a meeting with the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

The meeting aimed to discuss the development of the cooperation program proposal between BAKAMLA and JAIF, namely, Project-Enhancing ASEAN-Japan Cooperation on Maritime Security and Strengthening Capacity of ASEAN Member States in Countering Maritime Crime. The program aims to strengthen the capacity of coast guards in ASEAN.

The cooperation between BAKAMLA, JAIF, and UNODC is expected to have a significant impact in creating maritime stability and security in the Southeast Asia region, as well as strengthening the capacity of ASEAN countries in maintaining regional security.
