Commemorative Ceremony at the ASEAN Regional Training Center, with the participation of the MLIT Government Official

The Japan Coast Guard has announced that a commemorative ceremony will be held on January 14 for the introduction of a new training system at the ASEAN Regional Training Center in Malaysia.

The Japan Coast Guard is supporting the training for VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) personnel of ASEAN. In 2017 ASEAN Regional Training Center in Port Klang, Malaysia was established supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). The center conducts training in accordance with international standards and trains VTS controllers in ASEAN countries. This time, a commemorative ceremony was held to introduce the new training system to enable efficient training.

The commemorative ceremony will be held at the ASEAN Regional Training Center in Port Klang, Malaysia. The ceremony was hosted by the Maritime Affairs Bureau of Malaysia, and from Japan, Mr. Masamune Wada, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ambassador Hiroshi Oka, Ambassador of Japan to the Embassy in Malaysia, Mr. Norihiro Takasugi, Chief of Transportation, Japan Coast Guard, and Deputy Minister of Transport will participate. From Malaysia, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport and the Director of Maritime Division of the Ministry of Transport will participate. According to the order of ceremony, the Director of the Maritime Division of Malaysia will give a speech from the organizer. The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Deputy Minister of Transportation will give guests greetings and hand over the equipment (inventory).
