Highlight of JENESYS2024 Activities Reported in September 2025

JENESYS2024 aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan, ASEAN Member States, and Timor-Leste, to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, as well as to encourage an understanding of various aspects of Japan. The project is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). This is the highlight of JENESYS2024 reported by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) in September 2025:

Introducing JENESYS Alumni from Thailand

JICE introduced Opasjarurojd Pornwarin (JENESYS2018) an alumni from Thailand. Through her participation in JENESYS, she discovered the excitement of Japan, leading her to major in Japanese at university and study abroad there for a year. She is now happily working in a field related to Japan

JENESYS2025 Online Japan-Visit Advanced Program for ASEAN Alumni Held: Focus on Startups and Economic Partnership

JENESYS2025 hosted an Online Advanced Program for ASEAN and Timor-Leste alumni, welcoming 43 participants focusing on startups and economic partnership and inviting JETRO, Kitakyushu City, and other exciting guests.

JENESYS2025 Online Japan-Visit Advanced Program for ASEAN Alumni: Environment and Disaster Prevention

From 25-29 August, JENESYS alumni from ASEAN gathered online for a 5-day program under the theme of “Environment and Disaster Prevention.” Participants not only gained specialised knowledge but also deepened connections.

JENESYS Japan and ASEAN Sports: SDGs Exchange Recruiting Volunteers to Guide “Country Inspection of the Metropolitan”

JICE is looking for alumni to accompany the “JENESYS Japan-ASEAN Sports: SDGs Exchange (High School Students Invitation)” on 2 November. The alumni will work with the JICE interpreter coordinator to provide various guidance and guidance at the inspection site, as well as actively communicate with the visitors to Japan so that the group visiting Japan can deepen their understanding of Japan.

JFTP News Issue #18 Features Global Connections at Expo2025

The International Exchange Department of JICE has published JFTP News Issue 18, which highlights alumni from Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs who served as pavilion staff and volunteers at the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Participants from ASEAN Member States (AMS) include Myint Thu Han and Pham Thuy Anh from Myanmar and Viet Nam, respectively.
