The Outcomes of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation: The Commemorative Summit

On 17 – 18 December, the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation was held in Tokyo. Prime Minister Kishida and President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, this year’s ASEAN Chair, co-chaired the Commemorative Summit.

Three outcomes of the summit were discussed and adopted:

1. Joint Vision Statement and Implementation Plan from Commemorative Summit (17 December 2023)
2. Cooperation throughout the 50th year (2023)
3. Implementation of Japan’s Commitment through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF)
