Ambassador Sunaga’s participation to the AICHR Regional Dialogue
On December 3, H.E. Kazuo Sunaga, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, attended the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Regional Dialogue held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Dialogue was attended by H.E. Gen. Anantaporn Kanjanarat, Minister of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand, H.E. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and H.E. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community.
At the opening session, Ambassador Sunaga congratulated the adoption of ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025 at the ASEAN Summit last month as the culmination of the program on mainstreaming of the rights of persons with disabilities, which Japan supported over the last three years.
