JMT, Mission of Japan to ASEAN, and Partners Organizes the ASEAN-Japan Symposium

JAKARTA, 11 November - The Mission of Japan to ASEAN, the JAIF Management Team (JMT), in partnership with the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) convened the ASEAN-Japan Symposium: Co-creation in an Era of Geoeconomics at the ERIA Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre (E-DISC), Jakarta.

Distinguished speakers - including Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, KIYA Masahiko, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Ambassador of Singapore to ASEAN, Gerard Ho Wei Hong; Vice Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, and Founder and Chairman of FPCI, and Dr. Dino Patti Djalal shared insights on how ASEAN and Japan can deepen collaboration amid today’s dynamic geopolitical and geoeconomic landscape.

Guided by the themes “Upgrading ASEAN-Japan Cooperation through Co-creation” and “ASEAN and Japan in an Era of Geoeconomics”, the Symposium underscored the importance of inclusivity, diversity, mutual learning and tangible outcomes through multilateral collaboration and cross-sector engagement – bringing together governments, the private sector, academia and civil society  – to advance peace, prosperity and shared happiness across the ASEAN region.
