JAKARTA, 22 October 2025 - The ASEAN Secretariat and the JAIF Management Team (JMT) convened a coordination meeting with representatives from the Japan Radio Air Navigation Systems Association (JRANSA) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The discussion focused on updates regarding the ongoing Second Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Implementation Plan Training in ASEAN (GIPTA 2.0) project. The ADB also presented a potential plan for Technical Assistance aimed at further disseminating Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) technology across the ASEAN region, serving as a continuation of the project’s goals.

GIPTA 2.0 previously hosted a successful workshop in Tokyo in September and will hold a GNSS training session in Manila in May 2026. This initiative is expected to accelerate the readiness for introducing safe and economical satellite navigation services throughout ASEAN.
