Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn,  met with Ambassador KIYA Masahiko of Japan to ASEAN, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat on 17 March 2025. They exchanged views on ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as well as preparations for the 2025 Osaka World Expo, where ASEAN Secretariat is expected to take part in this major event.

Utilization of Expo 2025 Osaka to Enhance ASEAN Awareness as a Single Tourist Destination is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
