On 22 December 2022, Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center/Inland Fishery Resources Development and Management Department (SEAFDEC/IFRDMD) took a part on the Annual Progress Meeting on Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) Project Phase 2 under the Development Stock Assesment Method and Strengthening Resources Management measures for Tropical Anguillid Eel in the Southeast Asia.

In this fruitful meeting, IFRDMD wrapped up and shared the current result of the Eel Catch Sampling Survey and DNA activity. Since it is still an ongoing project, the complete analysis were expected to be done in 2023 and the objective of the project could be achieved to support sustainable eel fishery management.
