The juvenile eels were collected from the surrounding areas in Poso.

This activity is one of the largest tropical eel restocking efforts in Sulawesi and aims to restore eel populations, support ecosystem sustainability, and strengthen responsible fisheries management in the region.

The Development of Stock Assessment Methods and Strengthening of Resources Management Measures for Tropical Anguillid Eel in Southeast Asia project is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
