On 24 November 2021, H.E. CHIBA Akira, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, visited the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (AIPR) Secretariat in Jakarta. The Meeting discussed priority areas, specifically on Women, Peace and Security and reconciliation
Japan has been supporting ASEAN-IPR's initiatives and activities since 2015's "ASEAN Workshop on Strengthening Women's Participation in Peace Processes". The latest ASEAN-IPR project supported by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) is a research project studying the best practices on Aceh's peace process.
