The Fourth PSC Meeting for ASEAN-ERAT Phase II Project
DA NANG, 22 February 2023 – The Fourth Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the project Strengthening ASEAN’s Collective Response Capacity through the Enhancement of the Capacity Building of the Regional ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) (2020-2022), or ASEAN-ERAT Phase II, was co-chaired by Singapore and Thailand and attended in person by representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre), Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (DMHA) Division of the ASEAN Secretariat, and the JAIF Management Team (JMT). A representative from Myanmar joined the meeting virtually.
The meeting provided updates on the accomplishment of the ASEAN-ERAT Phase II project, including budget utilisation. Amongst the notable accomplishments made to date, 61 ERAT members were trained in the induction courses. The meeting also informed that each of the Humanitarian Logistics course and Civil-Military Coordination course scheduled on 3-14 April 2023 would train 15 members – i.e. 30 members in total – while training for 15 Team Leaders will be conducted on 8-18 May 2023.
In addition, the sustainability of the project was discussed in the meeting. JMT provided comments and briefed on its appraisal process.
