JMT Attends the 1st PSC Meeting and the ASEAN Clean Tech Forum: Empowering Diverse Clean Energy & Climate Tech Innovators
JAKARTA, 7 May 2026 – The Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the “Enhancement of Clean Energy Technology Ecosystem and Its Connectivity in ASEAN” concluded in Jakarta on 7 May 2026.
The meeting brought together representatives from the ASEAN Member States, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the JAIF Management Team (JMT).
Discussions focused on the project’s progress, including achievements from Sustainable High City Tech (SusHi Tech) Tokyo 2026. The top eight startups from ASEAN SPARKS showcased their businesses and pitched their innovations, with one startup receiving the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 Challenge Grand Prize. Another startup also signed an MoU with a private company.
Following the meeting, the ASEAN Clean Tech Forum: Empowering Diverse Clean Energy & Climate Tech Innovators was held as one of the project activities. The Forum aimed to connect innovators with policymakers, international organisations, funding providers, venture capital firms, and investors, while also facilitating structured dialogue to identify actionable recommendations to support clean tech innovation in ASEAN.
With the continued support from the Government of Japan through JAIF, the project remains on track for completion in June 2026.
