JAKARTA, 27 November 2025 - The JAIF Management Team (JMT) successfully hosted the first-ever JAIF Assembly 2025 online on 27 November 2025, bringing together nearly 100 JAIF partners from ASEAN and Japan. Since its launch in 2006, JAIF has supported almost 620 projects, yet this was the first opportunity to unite its diverse partners and stakeholders on one forum. The Assembly served as a platform to exchange best practices and lessons learned, share updates on Japan's foreign policy, celebrate the JAIF Visibility Award, and foster a stronger community of practice for JAIF implementation. The new Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, YONETANI Koji, delivered the opening remarks and shared insights on ASEAN and Japan continued cooperation.

JMT expressed appreciation to speakers from ASEAN Foundation, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Center for Active Ageing and Innovation, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Cambodia, Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, IPB University & Institute of Mangrove Research and Development, and National Parks Board Singapore shared insights and lessons learned. With active participation from JAIF project Proponents, Implementing Agencies, ASEAN Secretariat staff, and the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, the event marked a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration and visibility across the JAIF network.
