JAKARTA, 1 September 2022 – On 1 September 2022, two delegates from the Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association (JBMIA) visited the JAIF Management Team (JMT) to discuss the ongoing project ASEAN Japan Partnership Program for EMC and Safety Conformity Assessment of Multimedia Equipment. The delegates also met with the Desk Officer of the ASEAN Secretariat Standard and Conformance Division (SCD) in a separate meeting.

This project aims to harmonise the conformity assessment ability of test laboratories in ASEAN Member States (AMS) by enhancing the Product Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) evaluation knowledge for multimedia equipment through a series of workshops, symposiums, and technical consultations.

JMT discussed with JBMIA the planning of a workshop and symposium to be held in Indonesia in November 2022. JMT also provided technical advice based on JAIF regulations and procedures stipulated in the JAIF Handbook.
