H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, received a courtesy call by H.E. Ambassador KIYA Masahiko, the Ambassador of Mission of Japan to ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat today. Ambassador Kiya conveyed Japan’s commitment to further strengthen its relations with ASEAN in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations. Japan’s new support to ASEAN will include, among others, its additional contribution to the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) for humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, which was welcomed by the Secretary-General.

The ongoing project Support towards ASEAN's Effort on COVID-19 Response to Myanmar through the Provision of Medical Supplies and Equipment for Phase 1 (Life-Saving) is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
