ASCC Reaffirms Commitment for Robust, Inclusive, and Participatory Implementation of its Strategic Plan

The 14th Meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group to Develop the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan was convened on 3-5 December 2025 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr Christina Yeo Ken Yin, Undersecretary of the International Relations Division (Culture) at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, and Hannah A. Giray-Carcido, Bureau Director of the Policy Development and Planning Bureau, Department of Social Welfare and Development of the Philippines. The Meeting was co-organised with Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Meeting conducted a review and deliberation on the draft KPIs proposed by ASCC sectoral bodies. A significant focus was placed on ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are clearly defined, robust, and measurable at all levels. Additionally, the Meeting engaged in discussions about the advancement of communication strategies for the ASCC Strategic Plan, highlighting the need to enhance awareness and understanding of the Strategic Plan’s key priorities and result areas.

This Meeting is part of the ongoing activities to support the communication of the ASCC Strategic Plan project funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) 3.0, and the Development of the ASCC Results Framework and Baseline project funded by the Australia for ASEAN Futures Initiative.
