CAAP Hosts GIPTA 2.0 Training to Strengthen ASEAN Aviation Navigation Capabilities

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) hosted the GNSS Implementation Plan Training in ASEAN (GIPTA 2.0) from 19 to 28 May 2026, at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Pasay City.
Supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), the training gathered aviation representatives from ASEAN Member States to improve their knowledge and skills in modern satellite-based navigation systems used in aviation.
The program focused on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), which support the future of air navigation by enhancing safety, improving operational efficiency and strengthening capacity-building efforts in preparation for increasing air traffic demand in the region.
Through GIPTA 2.0, ASEAN countries strengthened cooperation in testing and improving navigation systems across the region, including efforts to address challenges such as radio frequency interference and ionospheric delays commonly experienced in Southeast Asia.
